Hello comrades from Russia/Belarus/Ukraine or any other Slavic countries, do you learn other Slavic languages?

I am always thinking that learning another language in the same language family/group is fun, but other languages in the Sino-Tibetan family is just a "who" language that nobody cares (except Tibetan, but it's very hard because of special script).

Once in a Chinese game, I tried comparing two languages in subtitles - Chinese Traditional and Chinese Simplified - and it seemed to me that there was literally only one hieroglyph difference. I've been comparing for quite some time. I could be significantly wrong though, because the additional localization of the second Chinese costs money.

As for your question, I don't see the point in learning another Slavic language, someone does, personally for me these languages are useless. There is also an artificial language called inter Slavic, and it is half the time understandable to most Slavs without prior training. And despite the fact that it is not widespread, it is gaining popularity. If I had a need to learn Slavic, I would study it, but as mentioned above, it is useless for now as there is no worthwhile content on it.

From a pragmatic point of view, Chinese languages have a higher value than all Slavic languages, and in the future this value will only increase to the level of English.

Thank you for replying!

Some characters indeed share same hieroglyph in both Simplified and Traditional Chinese, but not all.

In the ancient time there was not a single standard for writing and people just preferred the hieroglyph they liked. Only in late Qing dynasty people realized that it was too complicate for educating and thus some intellectuals urged for simplification.

And for now, I can say that users of these either system can understand the other script after at most one-week-long reading practice.

Thank you for telling me. Along with the local South African poster you seem to be one of the most well-mannered interlocutors in this section, I appreciate it.
Well, I have fulfilled my mission by expressing my opinion, let's see what other Russians, if they are still here, will say. This board is damn popular and overpopulated, popular and overpopulated everywhere except this section.

Meanwhile, I'd like to ask you an off-topic question, if you know anything about it: there is such a type of game console as a “portable emulator”, i.e. a portable game console that can emulate old era consoles - these cool things are only made in China, so do you know a portable emulator that can emulate the PSP and/or PS2? The Russian market is simply flooded with similar emulators of different quality and price, but their maximum bar is PS1 emulation.

I know nothing about it but I tried to dig out and here is the result (I do not know if these emulators are Chinese brand):

- Odin 2 portal: Seems support PS2, PSP;
- Retroid 3.5: Seems support PSP.

Hope it's useful.

Everything in the world will soon be made in China. Yeah, that's what it is, none of neural nets were putting him on the results list for me. Thanks for your help, bro.
